My brain first went to the TikTok sound, but by god do I not want to write a poem about that. Nor do I want to write about Sigma from Overwatch. Iykyk.
In an effort to avoid associations with the word itself, I thought of a song that been stuck in my head lately, where Mei Semones doubles a flute with vocalization for a large portion of the track:
I also thought about Andrew Bird, one of my long-time favorite artists who is a spectacular whistler and has lodged many a tune in my head with that skill. One of my favorites as an example:
Voice, lips, flute, or otherwise, it takes skill to mimic what birds seem to do so easily. But in doing so—even without words—people can touch the hearts of others, just as birds sing for each other.
